Coquimbo region [Chile] is experimenting a long lasting drought that is part of a desertification process, this posess a demand for an hidrological management system, in the top of this system are the stakeholders but for this to work; experts, information system need to be feeded with realtime telemetry information. Taking the lack of the last, the CEAZA has begun a program with the aim of creating a Andean snow related network by designing and fabricate such network with selft developed technologies. So far this program has been funded by ANID in the form of 2 IDEA projects.
